Tamora: Paranormal Academy (NOW RUNNING ACCEPTING ANY AND ALL CHARACTERS :D)

Left chuckled a little. At least the barf comment had sounded more like Eliza. "Alright, but I'll keep an eye on you," he told her, resting his arms on the back of the couch. "Make sure you don't try to poison me or something," he teased.

"Don't tempt me," she looked up at him with an unknowingly sexy smile from under her lashes then began cooking whatever she could find. Her mother had taught her to cook a long time ago, when she was still able to convince her father she had time for it. She hadn't furthered her skills since she was fourteen, so she opted for starting off by boiling pasta.

Left had a surprisingly large array of meats in his fridge, and she looked back at him once with the rising suspicion he'd got them just because she was staying with him. Funny, I never took him for the accommodating type, she thought with a crooked grin, nabbing some steaks from the fridge.

Any sane person might have opted for chicken, but she thought of it as a frou frou meat. What kind of wimp ate chicken anyway? If you were going to eat a damn chicken you may as well eat it alive.

She'd finished the noodles and sauteed the steaks, then added--miraculously--marsala wine to it, wondering how he'd even had it. She made a marsala sauce for the penne then sliced the steak and placed it on top.

She put her hands on her hips at the sight before her. It betrayed her, in ways that no one would know but her, and maybe Left. It looked to pretty and delicate, she would have never thought herself she could make something like it. "Uh, it's ready," she said and picked the plates up, setting them down on his table.

Left had been watching her in amazement as she basically cooked up a storm in the kitchen. He slowly made his way there when she saw she was done and blinked. 'Holy crap, Eliza, I had no idea you could cook like...well like that," he said. He guessed there were still a few things he didn't know about her. But of all things, this had surprised him the most. Not to mention that just its smell could start any man or paranormal drooling.

"An ode to what a great teacher my mother is, I guess," she said breathlessly and attempted to try and swallow the heat creeping up her neck. "It's nothing, really. Just simple..." she turned away from him and sipped at her Coke, wishing she could just slap herself across the face.

Left grinned a little. "Well, it's impressive nonetheless," he said, sitting across from her and taking a drink from his own Coke as he watched her.

Eliza's eyes flicked up to him, then back onto her plate as she picked up her fork and started to chow down. She moaned, mainly from the way the sauce and the blood from the steak complimented each other. "Okay, there's no way... your steaks were really fresh. Where'd you get them?" She breathed, sticking another piece in her mouth and wiggling in her seat.

"One of the wolve's who used to come here, Mycah, opened up a butcher shop. I had a feeling you might like his style," Left said, chuckling softly when he saw that she was just about wagging her tail with how much she liked it. Well, at least he had gotten something right, he thought, taking a bite of his own, slightly more cooked steak.

"I'm dying over here. I have to meet this guy," she laughed, shaking her head. "Man, when my father gets here, just wait until he steps foot in that place." A sudden spark went off in her brain. If her father wasn't inclined to Left, she could just make him take him there. It would make being partners more pleasant in the long run.

"Well, that might be one way to warm him up to this place," Left said, taking another bite of the pasta she had made. He really had no idea she was such a good cook, but he had a feeling that this was a rare thing too. No matter, it was still damn good.

Eliza looked at him every so often when he wasn't paying any attention to her and kept getting a weird feeling in her stomach. She thought of Kain earlier, and that off look he had about him, and realized suddenly that it was his hair. She was used to seeing Left's every day that everything else, she supposed, paled in comparison.

Half-way through dinner, Left looked over at him to find her staring at his hair. "Something in there?" he asked, putting down his fork to run his fingers through it.

"No," Eliza said softly and looked away, blinking groggily. She looked down at her plate and was stunned to realize that somehow it was all now gone, but she still felt hungry, somehow. She stood and walked her plate to the sink. "It's just so red."

Left grinned. "It's been that way for as long as you've known me," he reminded her, finishing his plate as well and following her to the sink. His eyes fell to her long ponytail as it swished against the small of her back. It was getting long now. How long had they even known each other by now? Even Left could barely remember.

"Known of you. We've never really know each other, have we?" She asked, giving a small smile. "We've always been too much alike to... talk," she said, scrubbing her plate clean, probably a little longer than necessary.

Left laughed a little. "Yeah, I suppose we're both not the kind to talk too much," he said, watching her for a moment. Left went quiet after that and leaned back against the counter, watching her silently.

To further prove his statement, Eliza found herself nodding, slipping into thoughts as she cleaned up her mess. She wasn't even aware of him standing behind her. She was too busy thinking about Kain and their marks and her father's visit.

For a brief moment, Left forgot himself and found himself reaching over to her for something. Half-way there, he caught himself and stopped. He stepped away abruptly and went around the bar-style counter. "Feel like watching a movie or something?" he asked suddently.

Immediately images of her leaning against Left in a dark room flashed across her vision. It was so persistent that she had to set down the last dish and dry her hands, then rub her eyes. No, she thought to herself as she said aloud, "Sure."

Left nodded, almost automatically, and went into the living room to pick out a DVD Eliza might like. He had felt a shiver run down his spin when Eliza had paused before answer him. What had that been about? He looked down at his marks to see the shimmering lightly before disappear back under his skin.

Eliza walked passed him and into his room, pulling on one of her thick grey hoodies and sweat pants before padding back out into the living room, just in time to see him light up. There was no other way to describe it. His marks shimmered and glowed softly, then seemed to go out like a light. "What was that?" she asked, confused.

Left looked down at his marks. "I know just as much as you do," Left said with a faint grin. He rubbed his arms trying to help the glow go away.When it was finally gone,he sat down on the couch next to her. "I'm turning into a damn nightlight." He smirked.

"No need to use lights anymore," she teased easily and walked around to plop down on the couch, pulling one of his shams over her shoulders, then laughing. "What kind of guy has shams... wait, don't answer that. You're not the typical guy," she rolled her eyes, smiling.

"What can I say, I'm a practical guy," Left said, grinning at her. He started the movie and leaned back against the couch as Eliza settled in.

"What movie is this?" She asked, trying to make herself comfortable. It was weird to just sit next to him... four feet away... without socking him in the face. Without grappling, grunting, sweating, or breaking bones. This was... new territory. Dangerous territory, her mind chimed in.

"Resident Evil," Left replied, "The newest one, I think." He could see her getting tenser, but hopefully that would go away. They had been living together for a few days already after all.
